Coming soon...

While I'm eagerly looking forward to performing at public shows and sharing my music with a larger audience, the timing isn't quite right at the moment. However, I want to assure you that I'm actively working towards that goal behind the scenes.

Currently, I have the privilege of being a part of various private events such as business drink meetings, weddings, and other personalized gatherings. These occasions allow me to create tailor-made musical experiences for my valued clients, ensuring that each event is truly special.

Building a music studio

A few months ago, I decided to start building my own music studio.
This studio will become my creative space where I can explore new sounds and collaborate with other artists. I'm so excited to see what magic will be created in this room.

I'm confident that my music studio will be the perfect place to record my first album. I can't wait to start creating and sharing my music with the world.

The studio will also be available for hire, and I look forward to welcoming other musicians into my creative space.

I'm confident that my music studio will help me take my music career to the next level and make my dreams come to life.

About Me.

Hi there, I'm Robin, a young musician and singer who is passionate about creating beautiful and meaningful music. Music has been a part of my life since I was just 8 years old, when I picked up the saxophone for the first time. Since then, I have learned to play other instruments such as the piano and guitar. I believe that music is the purest expression of one's intentions and emotions, and it has always been the center of my heart.

As a musician, I am constantly striving to grow and evolve, both as an artist and as a person. I draw inspiration from a wide range of genres and styles, and I am always experimenting with new sounds and ideas. My goal is to create music that speaks to people on a deep and personal level, and that can inspire them to see the world in a new way.

Whether I'm performing on stage or writing new songs in my studio, music is always at the forefront of my mind. I am grateful for every opportunity to share my music with others, and I look forward to continuing to grow and create for years to come. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better!

The story of Robin

First touch with music

At the age of 8, I attended the open day of our local music school with my father, drawn by the legacy of jazz left by my late grandfather and my innate love for music, evident through my constant singing around the house.

There, I explored various instruments, including drums and piano, but it was the saxophone that captivated both my father and me. Thus, at 9, I began my musical journey at SAMWD Lier (now Podiumacademie Lier).

Starting with music theory and choral singing, I eagerly awaited the chance to play an instrument. Unable to contain my excitement, I received a saxophone for my birthday in my first year. With little guidance but abundant enthusiasm, I began to experiment, eventually developing my own unique style and composing my first tune.

First performance

In my second year, I eagerly began formal lessons and quickly noticed improvement. Within just two years, I confidently performed in my first class recital at the music school.

During these formative years, my love for the saxophone blossomed, driving me to continually play and improve.

As I kept playing, I found myself at the school talent show called Theaterspeeldag. It was a big deal for me because it was my first time performing in front of a real audience. I was nervous, being just a second-year student.

For the show, I put together a mix of songs I liked and ones I had learned at music school. I wanted to impress, so I showed off my best tricks. This performance made me realize that music wasn't just a hobby for me—I was actually good at it. It was then I told myself, "I'm going to do music in the future."

Multi-musician

In 2016, I stumbled upon my grandfather's guitar, a gift he had given to my father. At that time, I was starting to lose interest in playing the saxophone and was focusing more on my singing. Finding the guitar couldn't have come at a better time. I began teaching myself how to play it, mainly to accompany myself while singing. After many late nights of practice, I finally mastered the guitar. This guitar holds a special place in my heart due to its rich history.

While delving into guitar playing, I continued to progress with the saxophone. I joined the Big Band of Lier, where I quickly rose to the position of second alto saxophone, occasionally given the opportunity to perform solos. True to form, I played a solo at our grand concert in the Jezuïetenkerk.

However, it soon became apparent that guitar and saxophone weren't enough for me. So, I asked my parents for a keyboard. On one memorable Christmas Eve, my wish was granted, and I received my keyboard as a gift. I eagerly unwrapped it and spent the next three months tinkering away, immersing myself in the world of piano music. It quickly became evident that the keyboard was an instrument I loved to play.

First appearance as an artist

Later on, I received a surprising phone call from a dear friend. She had secretly entered me into a radio program called 'MNM Rising Star'. To my amazement, she informed me that a video of mine had been submitted, and I had been selected as one of the finalists (1 out of 3). I was to head to the grand VRT building to record my cover, which would be played on the radio approximately 8 times a week.

This marked my very first step into the world of artists and my debut performance singing actively to an audience. Though I didn't win the competition in the end, the experience was invaluable, and I remain grateful to MNM to this day.

This experience kickstarted a series of events. I launched my own YouTube channel and had the opportunity to perform a solo-performance alongside my pianist, Lorenzo Nsumbi, at the Jezuïetenkerk—the same church where I had stood two years prior with the Big Band.

ROBIN Music

Following my remarkable introduction to "the artist's life," I was determined to elevate my music to new heights. Consequently, I launched my own business and became a student entrepreneur. Through this venture, I perform solo or alongside fellow musicians, providing background music or live performances at various events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties. This endeavor allows me to share my passion for music with diverse audiences while honing my skills as a performer.

The Voice of Belgium

In 2019, I received an invitation to participate in The Voice Van Vlaanderen. Initially, I hesitated due to the intense contracts involved. However, after careful consideration, I decided to sign on.

This allowed me to progress through the preliminary rounds and onto the first stage: The Blind Auditions. Throughout the season, I remained one of the favorites. My YouTube videos garnered significant attention, and magazines often discussed my performances. Additionally, my full voice adventure was summarized on the youtube channel "best of The Voice".

Personally, I cherished the stage experiences and the opportunity to showcase my music. I approached the competition as a musician, without feeling the pressure to win. I enjoyed every minute and it was amazing!

This laid-back mentality taught me invaluable lessons, and I ultimately secured a respectable 2nd or 3rd place finish, which I consider a significant achievement.
